We opted for a big island to add lots of counter space and storage... I love to have the boys(teenagers) hanging out while I cook dinner...I did not want new upper cupboards and had the grey pieces saved for years knowing one day I would finally use them in the kitchen...we covered the fridge with an old barn door in perfect white patina, the walls are pine boards that my husband ran a bead along to look like old tongue and groove...all the cupboards roll out for easy reaching and my favorite is the recessed lighting that I thought would be too modern but I just love the warm glow in the evenings!...the new windows let so much light in making it bright and airy all day...

Hello. Just discovered your wonderful blog. I notice you have an apron front sink in your kitchen. Do you remember the manufacturer? The ones I have seen all look to be the under mount style, but I think one like yours would work in my reno.
Cheers,
Beth
