Our fridge

I've had several inquiries about how we covered our fridge. I thought I would explain how we (hubby!) did this. It was pretty easy actually!...I had the old door forever and knew eventually I wanted to use it for this very thing...we trimmed a bit off the bottom, luckily the width was perfect...first we removed the fridge handles, easy just a few screws. We then used extra strength contact adhesive (comes in a big tube that goes in a metal squeeze gun) from home depot...we glued the wooden door to the fridge door part only, not the freezer, so when you open the door, it opens just the fridge, I just open the freezer from the bottom with my fingers. We used some tongue and groove wood down the side and left the top open...I love the look!

I sure never would have thought of that, i would have assumed the weight of the wooden door would pull the seal loose on the fridge door. It sure looks great though! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have so enjoyed your site. I just love every picture. I know I will be back often just for the feel good therapy that will come from looking again and again. Thanks for sharing. I am anxious to see the bathroom progress. Hope you are having a good night. Lisa

Okay... so now I've got another Project for The Man to transform our ugly old fridge into something totally fab with some of my old wood and vintage doors!? *winks*

I came across this post via Pinterest. Absolutely amazing idea! Your home is what I want to live in one day. Cheers from a fellow Canuck on the way other side of the province.

I have pinned this wonderful frig cabinet in the past. I just LOVE how you made this and how it adds so much charm to your kitchen. I hate to see a huge frig or even TV in a beautiful home. They are always eye sores to me. But, what you have done is absolutely wonderful and I am so happy to be inspired to do something similar in my small home.
